Handcrafted Classics is based in Gore in Southland, at the bottom of the beautiful South Island of New Zealand, and was founded by Brian Dwyer.  Brian’s career in automotive restoration started in the early 1980’s, followed by a 12 year stint restoring vintage aircraft at the Croydon Aircraft Company in Mandeville. 

Over the past 20 years Brian, and his team of skilled craftsmen have hand built many different cars, most notably around 35 aluminium bodied Jaguar C-Type recreations. Produced at their Gore factory, these cars have found homes right across the globe. Most of these cars were marketed through a different company which Brian part owned, but in 2024 Handcrafted Classics was formed, allowing a closer and more direct relationship with customers.   

In addition to Jaguar C Types, the team have completed the restoration of dozens of customer cars, including a number of E-Types, some of which have been converted to Lightweight or Low Drag specification with all alloy panelling created inhouse. The company has recently expanded it range to include Cobra and Cobra Daytona cars, with the same quality and attention to detail that has become their hallmark.
